Job Summary:

Interfaces with faculty, research personnel, administrators and staff to conduct a full range of activities to prepare and submit funding proposals (grants, contracts, subcontracts, etc.) to various federal, non-federal, and state agencies to include foundations and industry organizations. Efficiently develops budgets and tracks funding in compliance with UNMC and sponsor standards.Advises faculty and staff on post award financial management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years increasingly responsible administrative support to include accounting/budgeting experience.
  • Microsoft Excel,Microsoft Word

 

  • This position requires excellent organization and communication skills, ability to work under pressure situations and deadlines, and have the ability to work with challenging individuals and properly handle sensitive situations.
  • Ability to research and locate agencies funding guidelines and instructions. Must be able to interpret, and explain regulations, policies and procedures related to grant and contract submission and administration.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets is essential. Individual will provide comprehensive information on select COM research and funding to the Administrators and COM Business Director upon their request.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field 
  • Microsoft Access,SAP,Microsoft Outlook

 

  • Accounting experience, which includes analysis and monitoring of sponsored projects, effort reports and related payroll funding changes, and financial reporting.
  • Prior experience in research laboratory management and research grants administration would be beneficial.
