Senior Solutions Architect - Data

Physicians Mutual's enterprise technology group is currently searching for a Senior Solutions Architect to join their data team. This candidate would be establishing an architecture runway ahead of development for multiple agile teams.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the architectural design, integration, and deployment of the enterprise's overall systems.

  • Design and implement system solutions that meet user/client needs, cost constraints, and integration requirements with existing applications, systems, or platforms.

  • Champion data strategy across the organization, working with business users and data teams to design, document, review, and negotiate solutions that align with strategic business and technology goals.

  • Lead a cross-functional team responsible for the operational excellence of the data platform, including change management, SDLC, and CI/CD.

  • Develop and implement a technical roadmap for the continuous improvement of the data platform, encompassing tech stack upgrades, cost optimization, and compliance.

  • Researches, identifies, selects, and tests technology products required for solution delivery.

  • Establishes, implements, and documents the technology integration or migration strategies.

  • Provides governance and oversight as a senior member of the Architecture Review Board.

  • Staying on top of the industry trends and new technologies for our given system architecture.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of total IT and Data experience

  • 6+ years of performing data solution design and data integration is required.

  • Bachelorâ??s Degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline. 

  • Experience building and deploying analytic solutions that drive business impact for Sales and Marketing organizations in enterprise settings.

  • Deep understanding of public cloud computing providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data and analytics platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, etc), and how to leverage these technologies to build and maintain high-performance data and analytics solutions. Experience with the AWS ecosystem is a significant advantage.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex data insights to a variety of stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure and function effectively in a fast-paced, agile work environment.

  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to make quick and informed decisions under pressure.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others and build consensus to achieve common goals.

  • Passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning.

  • Experience implementing operational best practices such as monitoring, alerting, and metadata management.

  • Experience managing, measuring, and improving data quality in a data warehouse environment.

  • Proven ability to identify and communicate data-driven insights that drive business impact.

  • Experience working in an agile development environment, with a focus on delivering value to customers early and often.

  • Experience working in large teams using CI/CD practices to automate the development and deployment of software.

  • Expertise in Data Integration & Analytic Methodologies, and Data Modeling.

  • Strong knowledge of REST API design, Python, PySpark.

  • Working knowledge of Microservices and working with data in relational & No-SQL databases, caching strategies, etc.

  • Progressive experience in new technology, programming, application analysis, and security/disaster recovery.

  • Knowledge of the process and concepts involved in systems implementations, including conceptual design, work process evaluation, cost assessment for development and implementation.

  • Must have previous Agile, Scrum or SAFe experience.

Preferred

  • MS degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline.

  • Insurance Industry knowledge.
