Director, Technology Platform - Pet

We are seeking a Director, Technology Platforms to lead the core technological infrastructure of our Pet Insurance business. In this role, you will shape and oversee the strategy, development, and operation of policy and claims platforms, digital tools, and integrated services. You will ensure that our platforms are scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with business objectives â?? driving innovation that enhances customer experience and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with business growth, compliance requirements, and emerging innovations.
  • Oversee platform development, including policy/claims systems, customer portals, mobile applications, and internal tools.
  • Drive platform performance, availability, and security, ensuring uptime and resiliency.
  • Provide strategic technical leadership to cross-functional engineering and architecture teams.
  • Partner with business leaders to align technology capabilities with operational needs and customer expectations.
  • Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and resource allocation to maximize value.
  • Lead automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorâ??s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Masterâ??s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, with 5+ years in platform, systems, or enterprise technology management.
  • Experience as a Technical Product Manager or similar position where bridging the gap between business strategy and product development is essential.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional or matrix teams.
  • Expertise in cloud computing, enterprise architecture, secure system design, and automation.
  • Strong background in budget planning, vendor management, and enterprise-scale projects.
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Innovative mindset with exposure to AI, machine learning, LLM, and robotic process automation (RPA).
