The Data and Communication Specialist works with communities, grant partners and the team to help collect and manage data so that it can be used to analyze Racial and Ethnic Approach to Community Health (REACH) functions, productivity, and redundancies for evaluation.
This grant-funded, full-time role offers a pay range between $45-50,000/year.
Responsibilities Overview
- Assist with data tracking and the development of evaluation instruments and collaborates with team.
- Coordinates and conducts program activities that provide data to support and enhances decision-making, strategic planning, outcomes assessment, grant guidelines and reporting.
- Serves as liaison between the department and other constituents.
- Performs data entry, runs reports, verifies the integrity of data and reports issues.
- Designs, develops and implements moderately complex database applications to accommodate a variety of user needs.
- Monitor and maintain research databases, perform quantitative descriptive, bivariate, multivariate, qualitative analyses (e.g., focus group, content analysis), and mixed methods research.
- Complete data reports that are conducive to both Creighton University and the CDC.
- Meet with partners and other program entities routinely to ensure collection of data is thorough, precise and complete and extracts, manipulates, and reports data to internal and external constituencies; manages data; prepares and maintains data files; verifies data to ensure data integrity.
- Acquires, manipulates, develops, and maintains longitudinal data sets, verifying accuracy and consistency over time; writes documentation for programs and operations Designs and develops standardized operational, management, and ad hoc reports; prepares reports fulfilling the requirements of federal, regional, and state agencies and other external organizations; works with user community to understand reporting needs; identifies sources. Serve as a resource person in areas of data management and reporting, as well as a representative on committees.
- Performs all IT and communications needs of REACH which include design websites, writes monthly newsletter, designs brochures and all special projects.
Qualifications:
- BachelorĂ¢??s degree required; MasterĂ¢?? Degree preferred;
- 2+ years related experience in database or system management which includes data gathering methodology, data input, analysis and management network
- 2+ years of experience with relational databases, knowledge of descriptive statistics, statistical software, reporting tools and Microsoft Office programs
- Competence in one or more programming language a plus (such as VBA, PHP, Excel Macros)
- Ability to develop web-based surveys
- Ability to understand the data needs of users and produce reports
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed
- Ability to function effectively as a team member, while exercising independent and critical judgment
- Ability to prioritize work with multiple conflicting demands in a deadline-oriented environment
